Industry legend Tim Schafer (whose credits include the 1st Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango) has been bandying about the idea of a second Psychonauts for quite some time now. Alas, his sales pitches previously fell on deaf ears. I say previously as Minecraft creator and indie millionaire Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has caught wind of Scahfer’s will and tweeted “Let’s make Psychonauts 2 happen” at him, following up with “;D Also, I’m serious.” Double Fine, Schafer’s studio, issued this statement: “Tim and Markus are talking. Who knows what might happen?”
Notch has been tweeting about his exchanges with Schafer, but added: “Please don’t get your hopes too high yet. Everything is extremely vague!”
