Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak

To kick off its digital event for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom released a new trailer for the expansion. It showcases Malzeno, the new Elder Dragon that can drain the life out of enemies. Furthermore, once it successfully drains a Hunter’s life force, it can evolve into a stronger form.

Seregios from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate also makes his debut along with some new subspecies. These include Aurora Somnacanth, which exhales ice breath and can slide on the ice, and Magma Almudron, who digs into the ground and enters a superheated state. Current monsters also receive new attacks like Aknosom having a back-step and somersault attack while Tigrex can combo from a bite into a spin attack.

There are also Followers which allow for taking story characters into single-player hunters. Along with having their own weapons, they can also ride monsters and heal you. The new Elgado characters can join in on hunts along with Hinoa and Minoto from Kamura Village.

Wyvern riding is being expanded on while new Switch Skills and Silkbind Attacks have been added. Players can also swap between Switch Skills on the fly – simply register two loadouts in advance and you switch between them. Swap Evade has also been added for quickly evading and swapping skills. Wall running is also possible without needing to grapple with the Wirebug.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out on June 30th for Nintendo Switch and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
