Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection

Believe it or not, the third entry in the Monster Hunter Stories franchise is due next week with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Capcom revealed the launch trailer during its latest Spotlight showcase, and though it doesn’t contain any particularly notable revelations, there was a tease at the end for what could Narwa the Allmother from Monster Hunter Rise.

Available on March 13th for Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PS5, the sequel focuses on two kingdoms that have been at odds for a long time. Tensions are especially high when the Crystal Encroachment threatens to swallow the world whole, but suddenly, twin Rathalos are born.

If you know anything about the franchise and how pivotal Rathalos can be, the appearance of two might as well be a sign of the end times. Regardless, players venture forth with one while trying to save the world, and collect other notable monsters along the way. These include Arkveld, Chatacabra and Rey Dau from Monster Hunter Wilds; Magnamalo, Ibushi, Malzeno and Narwa from Monster Hunter Rise; and many more.

You can capture mutated monsters courtesy of Habitat Restoration, which imbues them with unique stats and elements (and is a good way to obtain species like Dreadqueen Rathian). Try out the free demo today, especially since progress carries over to the full game. If you have save data for the previous titles, you can equip the outfits of their protagonists. Alternatively, transferring save data from Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds will net the Kamura Garb and Hope Armor set respectively.
