While Monster Hunter Wilds has new content for the coming months, 2026 appears to belong to Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. A new trailer was revealed during Capcom’s Online Special Program, highlighting the story of the Prince and the twin Rathalos while delving more into the mysterious Crystal Encroachment.
Long story short, the two kingdoms of Vermeil and Azuria are in a crisis due to the Encroachment. They’re not on the best of terms (one seemingly tried to invade the other), but things are only getting worse. Other characters are showcased, including Rangers founder Lady Amara, with some assisting the Prince in combat.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a sequel without some new monsters, and fans can look forward to Chatacabra and Rey Dau from Monster Hunter Wilds. Other classic monsters like Magnamalo and Velkhana also make brief appearances.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches on March 13th, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. Stay tuned for more updates and gameplay details in the lead-up.
