The upcoming Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne, is looking like it’s going to be a very meaty one. Other than a large new region to explore and several new monsters to take on, it also brings with it a new quest rank, new combat options, and loads more. Certainly, there’s plenty to look forward to for fans of the series.
In fact, according to Laura Skelly, Capcom’s senior PR manager for UK and Europe, Iceborne is basically going to have enough content to be a game in and of itself. Speaking on Twitter, Skelly confirmed that the size of new content in Iceborne will “rival the original release”. That is, frankly, a lot of content, especially considering the fact that the base game itself was easily enough to keep you occupied for a hundred hours or thereabouts.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne releases for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 6th, and will be out on PC in Winter of this year. It will be available as a standalone purchase for $40, while the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition – which includes the base game and expansion – will cost $60.
Monster Hunter World itself, meanwhile, is currently free to play on the PS4 until May 20th.
Excited to confirm the size of new content in #MonsterHunter Iceborne will rival the original release! That's one BIG expansion for all you hunters! https://t.co/1BucaHePR8
