Monster Hunter XX Heading to Nintendo Switch

Nintendo 3DS title heading to Switch; Western release still unknown.

Capcom’s follow-up to Monster Hunter X (which released as Monster Hunter Generations in the West) will be heading to the Nintendo Switch. As per the publisher’s official Japanese website, Monster Hunter XX will indeed release for Nintendo’s hybrid console though no further information was provided.

As an expanded version of Monster Hunter Generations, Monster Hunter XX is currently available on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Thus far, we don’t know if either the Switch or 3DS versions will be releasing outside of Japan.

Then again, history has proven that popular Monster Hunter games do arrive in the West but that’s usually several months after the Japanese launch. Monster Hunter Generations, for instance, arrived on the 3DS in the West about 8 months after releasing in Japan.

What are your thoughts on Monster Hunter XX heading to the Switch and potentially skipping the 3DS in the West? Or even, for that matter, it releasing on both platforms? Let us know in the comments.
