Just yesterday, we reported, based on what developers Respawn Entertainment had said in an interview, that no Titanfall 3 was planned, and that Apex Legends, the free to play battle royale game in the Titanfall universe – which launched yesterday to great success – may be it for the series for the foreseeable future. But it seems like Respawn may have been blindsiding us, because Vince Zampella, the founder of Respawn, and the creator of the Titanfall franchise, seems to be teasing more Titanfall stuff coming later this year.
Speaking on Twitter, Zampella said that the studio will continue listening to player feedback for Apex Legends, and that there is “more Titanfall for later in the year” planned. This doesn’t necessarily have to mean a Titanfall 3 (that is extremely unlikely, especially given that Respawn is also due to launch Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order later this year), but at the very least, we can maybe hope for a re-release of the original Titanfall for PS4- and maybe even Switch? (The original game ran on Xbox 360, so that shouldn’t be an issue).
Whatever this ends up being, count me in. I love me some Titanfall. Apex Legends itself is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Tons of things planned for @PlayApex in the future. We are also committed to listening to player feedback.
We are also working on more Titanfall for later in the year (yes, I said the T word). We love being able to experiment in this crazy universe!
