Mortal Kombat 1 is a little under two months away from launch now, which means series fans will soo be able to see just what the game is going to do with its rebooted universe and new gameplay mechanics like Kameo fighters. Before that, however, you’ll also have the chance for a smaller taste of the fighter’s offerings in the lead-up to release with a closed beta, the dates for which have now been revealed.

NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that the Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta will be live from August 18 to August 21. The beta will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (sorry, PC and Switch players) to anyone who pre-orders the game.

As for what’s included in the beta, you can expect six main fighters with Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Li Mei, four Kameos with Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Frost, and two stages with The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out its PC requirements through here.
