Mortal Kombat 1 is set to add several DLC characters in the coming weeks and months, with developer NetherRealm Studios having confirmed that the post-launch Kombat Pack will add six new fighters, one of whom will be Invincible’s Omni-Man. However, if you were hoping to see gameplay footage for the DLC fighter in the near future, well, you might be disappointed.

Mortal Kombat co-creator and director Ed Boon has confirmed in a recent tweet that NetherRealm Studios won’t be showcasing a gameplay trailer for Omni-Man at New York Comic-Con, which is scheduled for October 12-15.

There’s no official word on exactly when the Kombat Pack DLC will launch, or when NetherRealm will begin showing gameplay for its roster of main fighters and Kameos. As for what to expect from Omni-Man in particular, it’s been confirmed that J.K. Simmons will be reprising his role as the superhero, and though his abilities are quite similar to The Boys’ Homelander – who is also included in the Kombat Pack DLC – Boon has previously provided assurances that the two characters won’t just be clones of each other.

Meanwhile, dataminers have recently also unearthed evidence that seems to point to additional DLC characters that haven’t yet been officially announced, including the likes of Scream’s Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian, and returning Mortal Kombat characters like Noob Saibot, Jade, and Cassie Cage. Boon may also have recently been teasing Ghostface DLC for Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
