Mortal Shell

Cold Symmetry’s Mortal Shell had a fairly popular beta in July with over 350,000 players. Fortunately, it seems that fans of the Souls-like hack and slash won’t have to wait long for its release. Mortal Shell will release worldwide on August 18th, as announced by its newest trailer. Check it out below.

Mortal Shell is set in a dark medieval fantasy setting with the player controlling different “Shells” on their journey. Each Shell is a playable character with their own backstory and abilities that you’ll discover as time goes by. Those seeking a challenge can forego a Shell altogether and play in their default form. Be warned though – a single hit can be fatal.

Mortal Shell will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store at launch. Expect more details and gameplay footage in the coming weeks but in the meantime, check out a 16 minute gameplay interview with the developer here. PC requirements can be viewed here.
