Naughty Dog Currently Has “No Plans” for Jak and Daxter 4

Although they may try again in the future.

Even though Naughty Dog found mainstream success with the Uncharted series and the recently released The Last of Us, the studio first began its humble origins from Crash Bandicoot, moving on to the classic – and insanely difficult – Jak and Daxter. Obviously there would be questions as to whether a new Jak game will ever come out.

In a recent Reddit AMA, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley sought to answer questions and clarify that Jak and Daxter 4 is, indeed, not in production. “No plans. We gave it a shot at the beginning of the project and couldn’t make it work for ourselves,” stated Druckmann.

On answering another user about the same, Druckmann said, “We tried and failed. 🙁 Maybe in the future we’ll try again.” So don’t give up just yet. Maybe with the PlayStation 4 perhaps? That is, unless their schedule is booked with the next Uncharted or The Last of Us sequel.
