An IGN reader listening to Podcast Beyond spotted something interesting in a video detailing Naughty Dog’s development of The Last of Us, slated to release for PS3 on June 14th.
In the development diary “Wasteland Beautiful”, the user NickoMcBrain found the following image in the background.
As he indicates, it looks “a lot like 17th/18th century clothing or maybe even pirates” rather than characters that would appear in a post-apocalyptic wasteland occupied by police states and plant zombies.
Which The Last of Us is (sort of). Could this be the PlayStation 4 game that Naughty Dog is working on, when it split into two teams, one to work on The Last of Us and another on an unannounced project?
As of now, this is all conjecture. These characters could indeed be from The Last of Us. Or they could be custom skins. Heck, maybe even multiplayer characters. Nonetheless, if ever there was evidence for doubt, this is it.
