Next Need for Speed

The next Need for Speed will finally be revealed on October 6th at 8 AM PT/5 PM CEST. There wasn’t much else revealed, though Electronic Arts is touting this as the “evolution” of Need for Speed from Criterion Games.

Rumors have been running rampant on the title for several months now. It’s reportedly called Need for Speed Unbound and set in Lake Shore City, a new location based on Chicago. The art style also utilizes anime aesthetics – how this ultimately plays out is unknown, but leaked gameplay has showcased a car with animated wings sprouting out after a jump. It’s certainly a look.

The next Need for Speed is apparently out on December 2nd and will reportedly launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC (no previous-gen consoles, unfortunately). Playtesting allegedly begins from October 13th to 18th. As for additional details, we’ll have to wait for the reveal on Thursday. Stay tuned in the meantime.
