Need for Speed: Most Wanted coming to the Vita, Criterion wants to get the franchise “back on its feet after last year”

After much speculation, EA has finally confirmed that Need for Speed: Most Wanted, being developed by Criterion, will indeed be coming over to the PS Vita. It’s launching on October 30 for the PS Vita, PS3, 360, PC, iOS, and Android.

And yes, it’s called Most Wanted, not Most Wanted 2, just like 2010’s Hot Pursuit developed by Criterion wasn’t called Hot Pursuit 3.

EA also announces a special edition of the game, and announced that it will be including the following:

  • Double speed points
  • Custom liveries
  • Pre-customized rollouts
  • The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and Porsche 911 Carrera S

Criterion’s creative director Craig Sullivan also told CVG that after the disastrous Need for Speed: The Run last year (not developed by them), they’re looking to get the franchise back on track. “It’s more a case of wanting to get Need For Speed back on its feet after last year,” he said.
