New Need for Speed Teased by EA on Facebook Page

Something something rule-breaking.

Need for Speed 2013
Fresh off the Xbox One’s reveal and the announcement of a strategic partnership with Microsoft to release four of its premier sports games, built from the ground up for the console using the new Ignite Engine – not to mention that, hey, it’s making Wii U games after all – Electronic Arts has teased what is reportedly the new Need for Speed on its Facebook page.

A single image (above) was provided showing a souped-up sports car with the “Pursuit” label perfectly visible. The only clue EA gave as to the game’s identity was the tagline which reads, “Have no rules, show no mercy”.

Sounds like the plot for the next Expendables film.

Regardless, given the response that Forza Motorsport 5 received and the announcement of Gran Turismo 6 by Sony for the PlayStation 3, it’s high-time EA gets back into the driver’s seat for their premier racing franchise. Hopefully it’ll become an even bigger success than the slightly underwhelming NFS: Most Wanted by Criterion Games.
