Electronic Arts has again updated the official Facebook page for the next Need for Speed, with a new screenshot featuring the tagline, “The Rivalry Begins. Learn More on May 23rd.”

Users have pointed out that the vehicle showcased is Ferrari, which hasn’t been seen in the Need for Speed series it was featured as DLC for the first SHIFT. It’s omission from games like Underground, The Run and Most Wanted could most likely be attributed to the illegal activities and destruction taking place in all three games.

Which means that whatever this new Need for Speed is, either EA managed to work out a deal with the manufacturer – or it’s going to be something in the vein of Hot Pursuit. The new Need for Speed will most likely be coming to current gen consoles, but we sense a next generation console spin as well.

Stay tuned for more details as EA reveals all.
