New Total War game to be announced at GDC today

"It’s like nothing we’ve done before" says Lead Game Designer.

Total War: Rome II has yet to see the light of day, but The Creative Assembly is already hard at work on a new installment in the Total War series. If that wasn’t enough, the game is all set to debut at GDC today.

Rome II’s Lead game designer James Russell let slip the news on twitter.

“Very excited that in my GDC talk tomorrow, I can announce a new Total War game in development – and it’s like nothing we’ve done before,” he tweeted.

The Total War franchise has made quite a venerable name for itself on the PC over the years, and has even shown some love to the iOS platform with Total War Battles: Shogun. “It’s like nothing we’ve done before.” The statement hints at the possibility of a game set in a completely different historical era from prior entries. Considering that Total War: Rome II is still far away from release, we highly doubt whether this could be another major entry in the franchise on the PC. Could this be the much demanded console entry in the series? The PS4’s touch control opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

This one is certainly up in the air. It won’t be long till we get our answers. Be sure to check back later today for the announcement. Just don’t let it be a Facebook game.

Thanks, VG247.
