There have been a few rumblings of some of Sony’s inactive PlayStation franchises gearing up to make a return, and one name that’s come up in that conversation is Twisted Metal. Just less than month ago, insider Tom Henderson claimed that a new Twisted Metal game was in the works, and now more sources seem to be corroborating that.
Recently, journalist Jeff Grubb said in his Giant Bomb show (via VGC) that a new Twisted Metal game is currently in early development, though did not say which studio is working on it, which, apparently, VGC has also heard from separate sources. According to Grubb, a new Twisted Metal game is part of Sony’s “broadening” strategy, and is apparently meant to coincide with the Twisted Metal TV show that is currently in the works.
We do have a PlayStation Showcase coming up in less than an hour, and some might be hoping for some sort of an announcement or a tease there, but given the fact that this game – if it does indeed exist – is in early development, we probably won’t hear about it for a while.
