Update: A press release by Square Enix has confirmed that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 will release on April 23rd for North America and Europe. It will be available on the same day for Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Steam.
Original Story:
Square Enix kicked off its Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online showcase to announce a release date for NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139, a remake of the NieR Replicant. It will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on April 22nd 2021. The PC version is out on April 24th 2021 via Steam.
A new trailer has also been released though sadly, there isn’t much gameplay to speak of. NieR Replicant is the PS3 version of the game that released for Japan with a younger version of the protagonist. The story follows NieR along with characters like Kaine and Emil as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the Shades and cure the Black Scrawl. Developed by Toylogic, the remaster will sport improved HD visuals along with fully voiced conversations.
Furthermore, composer Keiichi Okabe will be providing some new tracks. Combat has also seen some upgrades to PlatinumGames’ Takahisa Taura involved to ensure it feels good. It’s worth noting that NieR Replicant is download-only for Xbox One and Steam. So if you want to collect the physical version, PS4 may be the way to go. Stay tuned for more details as the showcase rolls on.
