The NPD Group’s May 2017 report has revealed the best-selling console for the United States in May 2017. Despite the Nintendo Switch being the highest selling console in April 2017, it was Sony’s PlayStation 4 that climbed back up as the best-selling console in May.

As per the NPD Group, “the combined installed base of Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One” has bested the combined base of previous generation platforms “by 29 percent.” Hardware spending was up by 7 percent though it was down by 11 percent year on year when compared to the same period in 2016.

Software sales are interesting due to Injustice 2 emerging as the top-selling title in May 2017 while Prey ranked in fifth place. Overall, software sales growth was flat year over year, which shows a decline over April 2017.

What are your thoughts on the PlayStation 4 being the top-selling console for the United States last month? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
