Even though Metal Gear Solid V director Hideo Kojima cited that the news about seeking a studio to remake the first Metal Gear Solid using the Fox Engine was a “misunderstanding”, that hasn’t stopped Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty developer Just Add Water from issuing an open letter to state why they’d be the best for the job.

“We at Just Add Water feel ideally positioned to do the remake justice for several reasons: (1) We have experience working with legendary IP (Oddworld Inhabitants) and treating the subject matter with the respect it deserves. (2) Many members of our team are huge Metal Gear fans, with very good knowledge of the source material. (3) We really, really want to do it.”

“We eagerly await your response.” It also reiterated that, “We wouldn’t offer if we weren’t sincere. We have some big fans here.”

Even more disappointed that it’s not happening now? Regardless, it’d be interesting to see how the Oddworld developer would handle the figurative remake. Currently, New ‘N’ Tasty is slated to arrive on the PC, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo eShop.
