ori and the will of the wisp

Amid all the big games coming out next month, Moon Studios’ Ori and the Will of the Wisps feels somewhat understated. But what it lacks in hype, it makes up for in emotional brevity and gorgeous visuals. After numerous previews have gone live, the first 20 minutes of the game have been revealed by GameSpot. Check it out below, though be warned it’s very spoiler-heavy (especially for those who didn’t play the first game).

Ori and the Will of the Wisps picks up right after its predecessor’s ending. It sees Ori going beyond the forests of Nibel and confronting new challenges to ultimately find the meaning of his existence. Which amounts to tons of platforming and puzzle solving to go with combat and boss fights.

Releasing on March 11th for Xbox One and PC, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is purported to be three times the “size, scope, and scale” of the first game. It’ll be available on Steam and Xbox Game Pass at launch. Stay tuned for more details and impressions en route to release.
