Outriders

Tomorrow, we will get our first gameplay look at the upcoming RPG/shooter hybrid, Outriders. The game is one of the first we’ve seen to be confirmed for next generation consoles. It’s a collaboration between Square Enix and People Can Fly, the latter of which have worked on a several critical darlings- but one former studio member wanted to set something straight about that particular point.

From his official Twitter, former People Can Fly member and current creative director at The Astronauts Adrian Chmielarz clarified that the creative people who worked on cult classic titles such as Bulletstorm and Painkiller were no longer at the studio. You can see that below.

Chmierlarz is clear that he’s not trying to pour cold water on the new team, as he wishes them good luck on the title. But he just wanted people getting excited about the title based on previous output to know that the developer is a much different one than it once was. Outriders will have to live and die on its own when it releases this holiday season.
