Overwatch Also Receiving Non-Event Loot Box Content on May 23rd

Including new sitting and laughing emotes.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has its next big event coming up on May 23rd as it celebrates its first year anniversary. However, a common complaint among fans is that not enough non-event content is added to Loot Boxes. Whatever comes in the events is often time-limited and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get everything, even if you pay for Loot Boxes.

Thankfully, the team at Blizzard recognizes this. Director Jeff Kaplan told Polygon that new, non-event content would be added to Loot Boxes with the upcoming Anniversary Event. Such content includes laughing and sitting emotes for Sombra and Orisa. Also, that “shrug” pose that Reaper has in the Uprising comic will also be included.

Along with the Anniversary Event, Overwatch will also receive a Game of the Year Edition that will features the Origins skins, free Loot Boxes and much more. What are your thoughts on the event thus far? Let us know in the comments below.
