Season 4 of Competitive Play in Overwatch will be ending on May 28th but it won’t be long before Season 5 begins. Blizzard has announced that Season 5 will kick off on May 31st at 5 PM PDT/8 AM EDT or on June 1st at 1 AM BST/2 AM CEST.
Those who have completed their placement matches will receive Competitive Points based on their end season rank, a unique spray and a unique player icon. Top 500 players for each region will receive an additional player icon along with an animated spray.
Competitive Points can be used to purchase Golden Weapons for each character. Each weapon goes for roughly 3000 CP so needless to say, your end-season rank is ultimately a factor in buying one.
Season 5 may start on May 31st but Overwatch’s Anniversary Event will kick off on May 23rd, bringing new cosmetics to earn and some new maps to play. There will also be non-event related cosmetics for those interested.
