Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has generally been doing pretty good over the past year and a half since its launch. Even with major balance controversies, matchmaking problems, bugs, etc., there’s no denying that Overwatch is still one of the best multiplayer first person shooters out there.

However, the community has always been contentious when it comes to cosmetics. Most new cosmetics arrive when an event starts (and they’re time limited) or when a new hero debuts. What about regular cosmetics for existing characters? Director Jeff Kaplan addressed on the official forums and said there was plenty of content coming.

“We have a ton of new content coming. Not only are there some really awesome items coming for upcoming events, early next year we’ll be adding *a lot* of new items to the base loot box,” said Kaplan. He also clarified further down this didn’t include the Overwatch League skins for which “more information” would be coming soon.

We do know that Blizzard will be adding skins based on famous franchises like StarCraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo and much more in early 2018. What else could we possibly expect, especially in the next few events? Stay tuned for more information.
