Overwatch Wrecking Ball

Jetpack Cat may have been too outlandish for Blizzard’s Overwatch, but the development team has the next best thing- a hamster in a giant mech. Originally available on the Public Test Realm server for PC players, the newest hero Wrecking Ball aka Hammond is finally live for all platforms. Check out the launch trailer below.

As an experiment on Horizon Lunar Colony (just like Winston), Wrecking Ball is basically Hammond the sentient hamster in a mech suit. He functions as a tank, but is capable of transforming into a ball and rolling around while deploying a grappling claw to ascend to greater heights. Building up enough velocity allows Wrecking Ball to hit enemies for damage, knocking them back in the process.

Dual gatling guns are also equipped on Wrecking Ball and it can deploy mines for area of denial. How the newest tank will affect the meta – which is dominated by Widowmaker, Hanzo, Mercy, Zarya, Reinhardt, and D.Va – remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on him though? Let us know in the comments.
