Palworld Trailer Showcases Various Pals and Their Abilities

There's a large variety, whether the plant-based Lyleen, the imaginatively named Jetragon, or the suspiciously designed Boltman.

Palworld

Of the many titles showcased this year, Pocketpair’s Palworld is arguably one of the most bizarre. It’s an open-world survival crafting game where you can explore anywhere, build a base, farm, and explore dungeons. The Pokemon-like Pals shake things up, and along with helping in various tasks, they can join in combat, wielding guns to take down enemies.

The developer outlines some of the Pals you’ll encounter in a new trailer. Jetragon is a dragon/jet hybrid, Lyleen is a plant-like being that calls Gardevoir to mind, and Reptigneo is a turtle-like fire creature. Some are also suspiciously close to Pokemon designs, with Boltmane resembling Luxray from Pokemon Gen 4. Don’t tell Nintendo.

If capturing Pals and having them do your bidding isn’t enough, there’s also multiplayer support. Palworld is in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. It releases sometime in 2023, so stay tuned for more updates and gameplay until then.
