Path of Exile 2_06

Gold is required for everything from respecing passive skills to gambling for high-level gear, in Path of Exile 2. While certainly not rare to drop, the quantity of Gold rewards from gameplay can be limited, especially in comparison to the amounts required at vendors, and services like the Currency Exchange.

This guide is everything there is to know about quickly and efficiently farming gold in Path of Exile 2.

Grinding Mobs

Mopping up large numbers of enemies with builds that deal area-of-effect damage can lead to large quantities of drops including Gold, but also various items that could then be sold on for Gold. While XP leveling requires the area to be 3 levels higher than the player level for maximum efficiency, grinding for gold is best accomplished in similar or slightly lower-level zones, in order to make the process run smoothly with minimal effort. The goal is to sweep up mobs specifically for drops, reset the instance, and then return to do it all over again.

Small, densely populated locations are ideal to minimize travel time between combat encounters.

Farming Bosses

Bosses will always be a source for excellent loot drops which can then be traded for lucrative quantities of Gold. Determining which boss is ideal for farming is primarily based on current player level and comfort. Typically a boss five or more levels lower will be a cakewalk, with difficulty scaling as the levels increase. On the other hand, a boss of too high a level will consume too much time and tax the player’s patience, but confer much better loot.

Secondly, the boss location would ideally be near a waypoint for convenience. Control + Left Click (PC)/Hold A(Xbox)/Hold X (PS5) on the location itself (not the waypoint) before entering it, to access the Instance Manager. From here you can force create a New Instance which resets the completion status of that area. A good example of this is the Cemetery of the Eternals, which has the entrance to The Grim Tangle right next to the waypoint.

Cruel Acts Difficulty

Grinding through the currently available Acts 1-3 in Path of Exile 2 will unlock Cruel difficulty which significantly raises the rewards from both mobs and bosses. Previous farming locations should now be even more lucrative than before.

Caches And Chests

These lootable props usually reward the player with generous quantities of Gold. Be sure to scour the area again when the instance is reset. This is a less than reliable source of Gold given its randomized nature.

Selling Gear

While gear is ideally salvaged or dismantled or disenchanted for their resultant Shards or Orbs, items can be sold for Gold instead. This particular course of action should only be taken under dire circumstances, as those other resources/currencies are far more valuable. Be sure to identify all items before disposing of them this way, so as to maximize their value.

That is every way to grind for Gold in Path of Exile 2.
