Path of Exile - Expedition

Grinding Gear Games finally unveiled the next big expansion and League coming to Path of ExileExpedition. It goes live on July 23rd for PC and July 28th for consoles with the “story” focused on the Kalguuran expedition that returns to Wraeclast to unearth relics. Naturally, the player will help in this endeavor, planting explosives and excavating different rewards.

Essentially, the player will encounter the Kalguurans in different zones and then plant explosives in different marked locations. Some locations may have more chests while others offer more enemies. Once they’ve been defeated, you’ll earn different Artifacts that can then be traded to the four new NPCs for different rewards. Each NPC has their own unique hook, whether it’s gambling to get a great item, upgrading an item or being able to barter for an item’s price.

Expedition will also add 19 new skill and support gems, new base item types (including loot that grants Ward for evading the first major hit from enemies) and new unique items. Massive balance changes are also being deployed with almost all damage-dealing support gems being nerfed, flasks being nerfed (with ailment immunity being nixed) and reworked, and much more. Stay tuned for more details when the patch notes go live next week.
