Path of Exile Blight

Grinding Gear Games has unveiled the next expansion and Challenge League coming to its free to play action RPG Path of Exile: Blight. It sees mysterious Fungal Growths appearing all throughout Wraeclast which must be drained of their rot. However, various monsters will attempt to stop you so building defenses with different elements – like Cold for slowing – is essential.

Basically, it’s tower defense with enemies traveling along blight veins and fighting whatever is in their path (including you). Defend enough of them and you’ll collect loot accordingly. Though these blights will appear throughout the game, there will be special Maps with them as well. These Blighted Maps will contain numerous lanes that require defending.

What rewards are on offer? Oils, essentially. These can be used to create tower modifiers and even allocate notable Passive Skills from one’s Skill Tree to equipment. The Blight League is out on September 6th for PC – stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
