Persona 4 Golden is Headed to PS4 and Nintendo Switch – Rumour

Several new developments are pointing to a Nintendo Switch and PS4 launch for Atlus' acclaimed RPG, Persona 4 Golden.

Persona 4 Golden

Atlus and Sega’s attempts to bring the beloved Persona series to more platforms have been belated (to say the least), but they’ve also been very successful. Persona 4 Golden launched for PC via Steam last year, for instance, and seeing as it has sold over a million units on the platform as of July 2021, it’s fair to say that there’s plenty of demand for the series on non-PlayStation platforms as well.

Recently, the fighting spinoff Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was announced for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but it seems like there’s more in the store for those platforms as well. As recently spotted by Twitter user @ScrambledFaz, if you modify the URL of the official website for the aforementioned fighter by adding “/v2” at the end, you’ll see a listing for the Midnight Channel Collection for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Why is that notable? Well, because the aforementioned collection includes both Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Persona 4 Golden, the latter of which hasn’t been announced for PS4 and Switch. Interestingly enough, a version of the site from a few days ago doesn’t show the listing for the collection, which would suggest that it was manually added quite recently. The “v2” suffix also seems to have been added manually.

But that’s not all. Known Nintendo leaker and insider Zippo also recently published a blog, claiming that Persona 4 Golden is indeed coming to PS4 and Switch. Zippo recently also claimed that a remaster of Persona 3 Portable is also in the works. According to the leaker, both of these are due out sometime in 2022, but there’s no word yet on which of them will launch first.

For what it’s worth, Atlus has confirmed that it plans on making several Persona announcements over the course of many months in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, many of which are yet to be made. Sega has also expressed in multiple statements over the last year or so that it intends to release more ports, remasters, and remakes of Atlus games across several platforms.
