We got to briefly tune in to the Midnight Channel again as Persona 4 Revival received a showcase at the Nintendo Direct event, and it’s looking as slick as ever. We’ve long been fans of this one, and that recent story trailer that dropped for the game was a great reminder of why it’s managed to remain among our favorite JRPG titles of all time.
There’s that story that blends life as a high-schooler with some seriously intricate mystery-solving, all of it packaged into an art style and presentation that’s quite enticing, and even spellbinding when it fires on all cylinders. Of course, the biggest surprise that the trailer had in store came at the end, when Persona 6 was smeared across the screen, a great way to announce that the highly anticipated new entry to the franchise is releasing on Nintendo’s handheld, contrary to previous rumors that pointed to exclusivity with the PlayStation 5.
Revival is a bit of a while away as it’s dropping on May 20th, 2027, but there was no information on when Persona 6 is coming out. We’re happy to wait as long as it lives up to the franchise’s reputation, and hopefully even help cement it further.
