PlayStation 4 Sells 8.4 Million Units in Previous Quarter

Expects to sell 17.5 million units by financial year's end.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 has sold 8.4 million units in the quarter ending December 31st 2015. The company is currently projecting 17.5 million units sold by the end of the financial year and it’s been noted that the console sold 14.8 million units in the previous financial year by comparison.

In the third quarter of the fiscal year, the PlayStation business generated $4.89 billion in sales for Sony. The company announced at the beginning of 2016 that it had sold 36 million units of the PlayStation 4 till date so it will be interesting to see the total number by fiscal year end on March 31st 2016.

Things will definitely be looking up this year for Sony in terms of video game releases with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Horizon: Zero Dawn and many other games in-bound.
