PlayStation App Announced: Second Screen for Your PS4, Remote Control and More

The PS App, ladies and gentlemen.

Posted By | On 19th, Sep. 2013

SCE WorldWide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida revealed the PlayStation App at the Tokyo Game Show and revealed how it will work on Android and iOS in order to work with the PlayStation 4. This includes using the device as a second screen for your console while also accessing the PlayStation Store. You can also remotely control your console using your smartphone or tablet. Check out the screenshots below.

The feature will come pre-installed with the console. You can view information on your Trophies and view the “What’s New” section which will indicate favourite titles, games that friends are playing and even let you send multiplayer invitations to friends from your smartphone or tablet.

How does the app look, and will you be using it with your PlayStation 4 as much as, say, Xbox 360 and soon Xbox One users will use SmartGlass? Of course, it’ll be interesting to see how it integrates with the console if it’s not aimed at games.
