PlayStation Network Name Changes Coming, According to Devs – Rumour

Several anonymous developers revealed that they were preparing for PSN's name changes.

Yes, we’ve heard forever about Sony finally letting its users change their PlayStation Network handles. However, it may actually be very close to happening. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier spoke to three anonymous individuals at three different studios working on “multiplayer games”. They stated that they’re preparing for PlayStation Network’s name changes.

To further provide proof, a fourth individual from a game studio shared a photo from internal Sony documentation. It showcased a PSN profile with the “edit username” feature and was meant to serve as a guide for those changing names on PSN.

It’s important to note that there’s currently no date for when the feature could be deployed. Given the process of trying to change the entire system of PSN IDs for tens of millions of users, it’s understandable that it would take time. Even if it isn’t an official confirmation from Sony, it is good to see the company making progress on the feature.
