Sony has made it abundantly clear on multiple occasions that it’s got big plans for the PC space- plans that will see the company greatly expanding its presence on the platform by bringing a number of its biggest formerly-PlayStation exclusive titles to it. Interestingly, it seems like the company has ancillary plans to go hand-in-hand with those releases as well.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered released for PC last month, and people are, as you’d expect, already digging into its files to discover some interesting things. As reported by VGC, users seem to have found multiple references to a “PlayStation PC launcher” in the game’s files, suggesting that Sony might be looking to release its own dedicated launcher for PC in the not-too-distant future.
Interestingly, this comes not long after evidence was also found in the game’s files that seemed to point at Sony implementing PlayStation Network integration in future releases. That would certainly align with a dedicated launcher.
Also discovered in the game’s files was evidence that Insomniac was at one point testing co-op and PvP for the title- read more on that through here.
