Pokemon GO #1 Grossing Mobile Game in US in July, #4 Worldwide

Pokemon GO's resurgence is now complete.

Pokemon GO’s resurgence is now complete- the game has steadily been picking up in popularity over the last few months, thanks to some great community events, new content and features, and the promise of more on the horizon– and all of this led to the game being the top grossing mobile game in the US in the month of July, mobile app analysis firm App Annie revealed in a report.

This is across iOS and Android both- so it indicates that the Summer months, combined with the confluence of the other circumstances noted above, all led to the game being rather popular. Worldwide, it almost matched its performance in the US, being the #4 grossing game. Surprisingly enough, its performance in Japan seems to have been the weakest (it ranked #9), compared to how well it seems to have done in the rest of the world. It seems like we can no longer say Pokemon GO is dead.

It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, it has on the upcoming Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! for the Nintendo Switch, and vice versa.
