Pokemon GO Reclaims The Top of the US iOS App Store

That's a lot of people trying to catch 'em all.

Niantic and The Pokemon Company’s Pokemon GO has slowly been regaining popularity and steam over the last few months, after dropping off after the initial burst and insane cachet it saw worldwide following its launch two years ago. Now, all of that has come to a head with the game officially reclaiming the top spot in the App Store Charts in the United States.

Analysis firm Sensor Tower points out that as of August 12, the game had reached the top of the Most Grossing charts on the iOS App Store in the country- likely because of the recent Community Day events. This was a massive and steep climb from the 14th place that the game was at before then.

That’s very, very good- and indicates that the various changes, planned for the future as well as the ones that have already been made, have resonated well with players, who have begun to pick it back up as a result. Does it also bode well for the upcoming Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee? Who knows? Doubtless, Nintendo and Game Freak will be hoping that it does.
