Pokémon GO Sees Revenue Rise to $2.5 Million Per Day in Wake of Trading Update

Pokémon GO’s comeback continues. The game has steadily been climbing back up the charts while no one was paying attention, thanks to a spate of updates for the game adding new features and community engagement events. One of those updates finally added trading and the ability to make friends to the game, a feature that was originally promised for the game in its initial announcement trailer.

That update has reportedly caused a surge in the game’s usage and revenue generation. According to Sensor Tower, in the wake of that update, Pokemon GO’s daily revenue rose to $2.5 million a day on average- representing a 39% increase for that metric compared to the preceding two months.

Of course, this update also happened to coincide with the Summer months, which is typically the best time for a game that requires its players to venture outdoors to do well. Nonetheless, even with the onset of Winter, the upcoming update that will add player versus player battles to the game should keep interest in it high.
