Game Freak’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus is only a week old but it’s already notched up some very impressive sales numbers. Nintendo of America revealed on Twitter that it’s had over 6.5 million sales thus far. The role-playing game was previously revealed to have sold more than 1.4 million units in Japan within the first three days.

In comparison, Pokemon Sword and Shield sold over six million units within its first week of launch while Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl hit six million sales in the same period. Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that those were technically two games on sale. Pokemon Legends: Arceus managed to surpass launch week sales for both with only one version available.

Where the series goes from here remains to be seen but rumors indicate that some DLC for the current game is coming. Stay tuned and in the meantime, check out our review for Pokemon Legends: Arceus here.
