Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer for Game Freak’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the ninth generation of Pokemon titles launching in November. It offers an extensive tour of the Paldea region, combat, how Terastallization works, and even the new Let’s Go! command. Check it all out below.

While traversing the open world, players can encounter bases belonging to Team Star. They’ll have their hands full from the get-go, taking on various Pokemon thrown out by grunts near the gate. One evens the odds by using the Let’s Go! command, but eventually, the boss of Team Star’s Fire Crew, Mela, appears.

Changing gears, the TM Machine is showcased, which allows for creating TMs from materials that Pokemon drop when defeated or captured. The desert is seen next, as the player pursues a different Legend path focused on locating the Herba Mystica. This eventually sees the player taking on a giant Titan Pokemon, but using different Tera types and new moves like Tera Blast can provide an advantage.

There’s more to see, from trading and character customization (including tons of hairstyles) to the Camera and Profile apps. You even have Pokemon Picnics to shower your Pokemon and make sandwiches (which can make certain Pokemon easier to catch). The video ends with a Tera Raid Battle against a Tera Chansey, and as noted before, all players can take their turns simultaneously.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are out on November 18th for Nintendo Switch. For more details and gameplay, head here.
