Nintendo’s Pokemon Sword and Shield is looking to be massive when it arrives later this year. Along with new Wild Areas, new Legendaries, multiplayer raids against giant Dynamax Pokemon and having your own Dynamax Pokemon, there’s a new story to pursue. The focus of the Galar Region is on Pokemon Battles, which are considered the “most popular form of entertainment.”
While players will still look to become Pokemon League Champion, eventually going up against the current champ Leon, they’ll also become rivals with his younger brother Hop. New characters include Professor Magnolia and her granddaughter/assistant Sonia, with the former studying the whole Dynamax effect. We also get a look at Milo, a Gym Leader who specializes in Grass-type Pokemon and has a giant Eldegoss.
Eldegoss is one of the new Pokemon. Other new additions include Gossifleur, who can evolve into Eldegoss, and Wooloo, a sheep Pokemon. There’s also Drednaw, which resembles a snapping turtle, and Corviknight, a raven-like Pokemon that carries players back to previous towns. These are in addition to the new Legendaries, Zacian and Zamacenta.
Pokemon Shield and Sword are out on November 15th for the Nintendo Switch.
