For all the hype that Microsoft has generated for Project Scorpio, calling 2017 the year of the platform, Xbox boss Phil Spencer is still unsure whether it will be showcased before E3 2017.

On Twitter, Spencer responded to a query about Scorpio being before shown E3 with, “Honestly not sure yet but I know people want this.”

Then again, we wouldn’t put it past Microsoft to have some kind of tease regarding Scorpio before E3. Because of course they would.

With regards to progress with Scorpio and whether he’s happy with what he’s seeing, Spencer replied, “Absolutely, great that our 1st party teams are getting engines up and tuned, great progress across studios, platform and hardware.”

Project Scorpio is set to release in Holiday 2017. Whether it’s set to appear before E3 2017 or not, Microsoft has its work cut out for it when June arrives. What are your thoughts on Scorpio? Let us know in the comments.
