The PS4’s amazing sales performance at retail continues, with sales of the system now being well over 25 million, according to SCE Worldwide Studios VP Michael Denny has revealed. We’ve already known that the console was at 25 million units sold worldwide a few months ago- so the new statement doesn’t do much for us here, since it lacks any specific updates.

“I don’t think there’s a better time to buy into PlayStation – PS4 particularly,” Denny told GamesIndustry.biz at Paris Games Week. “Our installed base now is well over 25 million. That gives us a massive community of gamers, supported by a lot of new community features. We’ve got great games out there, more coming through. We’re looking forward to 2016, it’s an exciting time.”

With the PS4’s recent price drop globally, sales of the console, which had begun to slow down just a little in recent months, should pick up again, and manage to sustain the record breaking pace that they have achieved ever since the console launched in November 2013. And with the great lineup of games for the console next year, it seems as though there is no stopping the PS4 train for a good while now.
