Sony has announced that the first mandatory update for the PlayStation 4 since its launch is now available for download. Software version 1.51 will add a few minor changes but will help improve overall stability and a change in the UI which shows whenever you’re downloading a game and attendant patch simultaneously.

As it is, the PlayStation 4 has been very successful, selling 1 million units within its first 24 hours of launch in North America. This, despite the hardware problems that have been cropping up. According to Sony, roughly 0.4 percent of consoles have been affected but at least Sony is replacing defective units quickly.

The PlayStation 4 will be launching in Europe on November 29th. Mixed receptions have befallen the launch line-up due to the massive amount of hype, with Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack being under fire. At least Housemarque’s Resogun, an indie shoot ’em up, has garnered enough critical acclaim since its release. Stay tuned for more details.
