Quantum Break First Gameplay Video Debuts: It’s About Time, Chaos, Explosions

So many explosions, along with an explanation of the time mechanics and story.

Remedy Entertainment’s Sam Lake has come forward to explain Quantum Break, the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, in a new gameplay trailer that debuted at the Spike VGX Awards. It features “dynamic cover mechanics” and “intensive gunplay” against the backdrop of a collapsing time stream. We also get a look at the primary antagonistic faction Monarch. Check out the gameplay trailer above.

Lake talks about how the studio took the emotional story-telling of Alan Wake and the stylized cinematic action of Max Payne to deliver a compelling experience in Quantum Break. Players will take control of Jack and Beth, along with being able to control the main villain Paul Serene – all of whom possess time control powers, that see time rewind and fast forward at chaotic intervals. It’s really something, that’s for sure.

Quantum Break is slated to release in 2014 for Xbox One with a release date “currently in mind” at Remedy.
