Scalebound

Anybody who was a bit annoyed that Crackdown and Scalebound weren’t shown off at E3 can breathe a sigh of relief because a new report claims that both games as well as Quantum Break will take center stage at this year’s Gamescom. Microsoft has confirmed that all three games will be part of the company’s Gamescom press conference on August 4.

There were a number of people who were a bit concerned that none of the three games were given much lip service, and weren’t really shown off at all during E3, but it appears Microsoft had a rhyme and reason for that. First of all, the company had plenty of news to share already, including the upcoming backwards compatibility. Secondly, Sony isn’t planning on going to Gamescom so the Xbox One won’t have to share the spotlight with the PS4 at all.

All three games are Xbox One exclusives are there are some people who thought Microsoft showing the games off would have made them the clear winner of E3. It appears the company is going to instead try and hit a home run at the August conference that takes place in Germany. Waiting until Gamescom 2015 also allowed the development teams on those three games to actually work on developing them and having them a bit more polished over the next few months. Obviously, announcing these games are getting shown off at Gamescom also helps build up the excitement when the conference kicks off in August.
