Rainbow 6 Patriots update: The game could be a next generation title

The project is not dead.

It’s been several months since we heard about Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots. It was announced back in November ’11 and since then details have been scarce. Now, according to a report by Polygon,  the game is very much in development and may release for next generation consoles.

The project is looking good, and it will “surprise” people when they show more of it. “The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it’s really looking good,”  said Ubisoft’s chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot. “So when it will come, it will surprise the industry.”

When Polygon asked whether the game may see a next gen release, Guillemot said he believes “there’s a good chance it can be.” This is just another hint that several developers have access to next generation consoles and development is in full swing.

2013 is going to be an interesting year for Ubisoft with Watch Dogs and perhaps a new Prince of Persia title.

We will keep you updated as it pans out.
