Red Dead Online

The first of the “big batch” of upcoming updates for Rockstar Games’ Re,d Dead Online beta is live. It adds Daily Challenges, which reward Gold Nuggets and XP for completing various objectives like skinning animals, treasure hunting, and so on. There will be seven challenges rotating on a daily basis, and completing all of them grants a bonus for players.

A new Rare Shotgun, which is essentially a double-barrelled long-arm shotgun, is also available today, along with new outfits, emotes, and other cosmetics. Player radar and visibility over long distances has been reduced, which should ideally reduce ganking. The Law and Bounty system has also been enhanced to send a gang of AI-controlled Bounty Hunters if you rack up a significant bounty.

If that weren’t enough, players can also take on Fishing Challenges with their friends. The first player to catch the highest weight of fish wins. Over the next few weeks, Rockstar will also be adding the Fool’s Gold free roam event and three new Showdown modes. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
